| Dellen Millard |
Dellen Millard was born in Toronto, 1985. He was the only son of wealthy parents, and as an adult, he was set to take over his father's successful aviation repair business. At 14 years old he was the youngest in Canada to take solo flights in one day in a helicopter and an airplane. He seemed to have everything going for him, but inside him lurked an evil that would eventually claim 3 lives.
Even though Dellen's potential was bright, he chased the thrill of living dangerously. He dropped out of college and started doing drugs, progressing to harder and harder drugs. Dellen would fund drug and alcohol-fueled parties. His lifestyle attracted people who wanted to live that "gangsta" life.

Enter Mark Smich, a thug and wannabe rapper. With awesome lyrics like:
"Blues clues, talk to the cops and die on the news. Peace bitch". Mark was also a petty criminal and drug dealer who would turn out to be Dellen's sidekick and lapdog.
Dellen would commit petty criminal offenses just for the thrill of it. One of the hangars at the aviation repair business his father owned, MillardAir, was full of Dellen's toys. Vehicles, watercraft, equipment, and motorcycles filled the hangar, most of them stolen. Dellen and Mark would go on what they call "Missions", where they would go out and commit various thefts or robbery. Dellen then started drug dealing himself and even filmed pornography in his families aircraft.

In the summer of 2012, a young woman named Laura Babcock would become entangled in the life of Dellen Millard. Laura was an aspiring actress with a bubbly personality. She too became attracted to the bad boy image of Dellen Millard. Laura had a difficult time making ends meet after graduating from college, and she had a history of anxiety and depression. After speaking with a college friend, Laura was introduced to the world of escorting.
Laura and Dellen initially began a casual relationship, and only were together for about a month but they stayed friends after the relationship ended.
Laura then met a young man named Sean Lerner. Sean was like a polar opposite of Dellen. Where Dellen was the bad boy, Sean was a good man in every aspect, and he was clearly in love with Laura. Eventually, though, Laura and Sean split and they remained friends as well. Sean often helping Laura with a place to stay when she was going through a rough patch, even finding a hotel that was pet-friendly so she could keep her dog with her and fronting the bill, and gave her an iPad as a gift.
Laura did not get along with Dellen's new girlfriend and a feud developed between the two, and it rapidly escalated. Dellen would send Laura a text in April of 2012 that read: "You are harmful to me, please don't try to contact me."
The next day, Dellen texts his girlfriend regarding Laura: "First, I am going to hurt her. Then I'll make her leave. I will remove her from our lives."
Ominously around this time, Dellen instructed a mechanic at MillardAir to make a homemade incinerator out of oil drums welded together, but after a few test runs Dellen decided to order an industrial size portable incinerator on a trailer called "The Eliminator". Quoting one witness "This thing was huge, it had 7000lb axles on it. It must have weighed 10,000lbs". Dellen also purchases a .32 cal handgun from a Toronto arms dealer.
In July 2012, Dellen and Laura met again and cell phone data shows that they went to Dellen's house. After this, Laura doesn't use her phone again. Right after Laura's last phone call (checking voicemail at 7:03), Dellen texts Mark "I'm on a mission, be back in 1 hour".
On July 2nd Laura's iPad that Sean gave her is connected to Dellen's computer and renamed "Mark's iPad", later Dellen gives it to Mark. That afternoon a photo is saved to Dellen's phone that showed something that looked like a body wrapped in a blue tarp next to his dog.
The next day is the day Dellen takes delivery of the industrial size incinerator her ordered. On July 23, Dellen texts Mark this message: "BBQ has run its warm up, it's ready for meat". Later on Dellen's computer, he searches for what temperature is needed for cremation. A short while later he takes a picture of Mark at MillardAir hangar with an incinerator rake, followed by a video of sparks coming from the incinerator.
The next day Mark Smich recorded a rap song on Laura's iPad about her death, how they burned the body in the incinerator and threw her phone in a lake.
"The bitch started off all skin and bone,
now the bitch lay on some ash and stone,
last time I saw her I was outside her home,
and if you go swimming you can find her phone."
3 days later, after being unable to reach Laura, her friend Sean contacted police to report her missing but hit a brick wall. Police said that she lived a high-risk lifestyle because of her mental health issues and because she had worked as a prostitute and refused to take the missing person report. They said that she would turn up.

Sean refused to let it slide and conducted his own investigation, obtaining Laura's phone records. He called people on her history and ask if they had seen Laura. He also noted that the last 8 phone calls were to Dellen Millard, and he brought this information to the police. But once again, the police refused to look into it.
Sean Lerner would file a complaint against the Toronto Police for refusing to start a missing person investigation for Laura, they didn't ask anyone any questions and didn't investigate Dellen Millard, even after Sean had done some investigation himself and brought his findings to the police.
It seemed, for now, Dellen Millard and his sidekick Mark Smich would evade justice.
In November of 2012, Dellen's father Wayne Millard would commit suicide. His body was quickly cremated.

In the community of Ancaster, Ontario 2013, a man named Tim Bosma put out an ad saying he wanted to sell his pickup truck. Tim was a father, contractor and all around good guy. He was contacted by two men interested in his truck but they said that they wanted to do a test drive first before they made up their mind. Tim decided that he would take the test drive with them just in case they decided that they wanted to steal the truck
The two men were Dellen Millard and Mark Smich. They arrived on foot to Tim's house for the test drive. A fact that both Tim and his wife found odd, but they wanted to sell the truck so any fears they had were pushed aside. The three men hopped in Tim's truck and drove off. It was the last time Tim's wife would see her husband again.
It is unclear exactly what transpired between the three men, but either Dellen or Mark shot Tim in the head, killing him. They then drove Tim's truck to MillardAir and burned Tim's body in Dellen's industrial incinerator.
Police received a tip about a man taking a test drive of a truck the same make and model of Tim's truck at a dealership. The tipster told police about a distinctive tattoo on the man taking the test drive and were able to identify Dellen Millard. After putting him under surveillance, Dellen was arrested along with his lackey Mark after finding Tim Bosma's truck in the driveway of Dellen's mother. The trailer hooked up to the truck was registered to MillardAir and Dellen has Tim's truck keys on his own keychain.
In 2016 Dellen and Mark were convicted of the first-degree murder of Tim Bosma. Both men received life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years. In 2017 Dellen and Mark were found guilty of murdering Laura Babcock as well and both men got another life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years.
After the men were found guilty of the two murders, police looked deeper into the death of Dellen's father Wayne, and it was found that Wayne did not commit suicide but was in fact killed by his son Dellen.
Dellen was found guilty of his father's murder and again was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years. The judge decided that the sentence would be carried out consecutively instead of concurrently, meaning that Mark Smich would not be eligible for parole until 2063 and Dellen Millard will not be eligible to apply for parole till 2088. Dellen Millard's sentence is the longest term handed down in Ontario history.
